Some ways to teach your students to be happy:
1. Gratitude exercises are among those exercises that lead us to happiness. The teacher asks each of the students what they are most grateful for in life. The answers are varied and quite delightful, as naive children’s answers can be.
– My mom cooked lunch with favorite vegetables. I am very grateful that she takes care of me.
– My father sent me to the park at the weekend to have fun. I am grateful that he spends time with me, even though he has to work a lot.
– My older sister helps me with my homework every day. She is the reason why I always get good grades, so I am grateful to her.
Thus follows a conversation of the students, who show how much they are grateful in life, even with the sanitary workers who keep the school clean. Knowing how to be grateful in life and expressing it, relaxes you, makes you a calmer person.
Students reflect positivity and know how to cooperate better with their lives. They break away from the daily routine of exercises and tasks, which affect the children’s well-being. Stress is reduced, so take a few minutes to talk about “gratitude.”
Many believe that stress, anxiety, high competition are the reasons why students feel stressed and accumulate negative energy.
Above all, comparison, when the teacher compares students to each other. We educate doctors, engineers, accountants, who are ambitious and competitive. But on the other hand, we do not understand what kind of human being we educate, how humane he is.
The goal is to make students laugh more and stress less.
2- Doing more lessons in nature. The closer to nature, the better.
3- Fun group work, so they have much more fun.
4- Motivational messages, to be written on the walls of the school.
5- The school should have as many student creations hanging on the walls as possible. This motivates students to be creative and express their talent, because they know they will be ‘rewarded’ by presenting their creations to others and thus feel proud of themselves.
6- Even if students do not excel in a certain subject, encourage them to have maximum confidence in themselves.
The most important thing, above all, is to see smiles in the eyes and faces of your students.
